"A Taste of Tomorrow" begins with a simple question:
How do I imagine the woman of the future?
I imagine her free.
Free to decide who she wants to be and how she wants to live.
Free to travel, to stay, to become a mother or not to become a mother.
To be a footballer, an artist, an astronaut, or anything else she might want to be.
Above all, I imagine a future where women don't have to be brave to be free.
Where freedom isn't something we have to fight for, defend, or justify, but simply the place we start from.
Free enough to eat the world.
The illustration was later selected to be brought to a much larger scale during
Poble Nou Open Day, as part of the WAC (Windows Art Circuit), where I transformed the image into a 9 × 5 metre mural on a shutter.
What started as an illustration began to grow and find new contexts and meanings.
This first version opened the door to new opportunities and, later on, I was invited to develop another interpretation of the same concept for Festival Cruïlla.
This project is where that journey began.
